These units are used to temporarily store glass, acting as a process-flow buffer. An accumulator is normally placed before or after certain processes which may be affected by inconsistent piece flow, or processes which require nominal outages.

Horizontal Accumulators (a.k.a. Peg Conveyors)

Peg style accumulators can be a good solution for curved glass accumulation, and/or when manual access is required, such as to pull parts out of the accumulator for inspection. In certain circumstances, these units can also be used a First-In-First-Out accumulator. This may be a handy solution for drying or curing of primer for example.  If parts pass through the peg conveyor, they will exit in the opposite orientation, i.e. flipped. They can come in a variety of styles and sizes, depending on the product.
