The Glassline model ED-252 is a state-of-the-art EDM machine tool featuring heavy duty construction, D.C. Servo ram with ball screw and precision bearings, and a 50 amp solid state power supply field proven for reliability. The power supply has a maximum power consumption of 6 kilowatts. The diamond wheel to be re-trued is mounted on a special arbor for the particular wheel and indicated for run out. The arbor is fitted to a spindle mounted in a bracket attached to the worktable. The spindle is driven by a DC gear motor for variable rotation. The gear motor is directly coupled to the spindle but is mounted outside of the work tank. For brochure click here

Power Dresser

The Model D1507-1 power dresser has been specially designed to re-true U-type pencil edging wheels, periphery wheels, convex type diamond wheels, and angle periphery wheels. The spindle is mounted in a bushed, tubular housing, and is equipped with a reciprocating cylinder. This cylinder oscillates the diamond wheel as the O.D. of the wheel is being reduced. This feature is used to dress periphery type wheels or reduce the O.D. on pencil edge wheels. For brochure click here

Automatic Power Dresser for Redressing the Outside Diameter of Diamond Wheels

The machine will consist of a precision belt driven spindle on which the diamond wheels are mounted. This spindle will be driven by a 1 H.P. brake motor at approximately 400 R.P.M. and is equipped with a reciprocating cylinder to oscillate the spindle when dressing periphery wheels or reducing the diameter of pencil edge wheels. The abrasive wheel will be mounted on a 2 H.P., 3450 R.P.M. precision motorized spindle mounted at the rear of the machine behind the diamond wheel spindle. The abrasive wheel spindle will be mounted on a feed slide fitted with accordion protectors to prevent the introduction of abrasive dust and equipped with a hand wheel to simplify setup and operation; the hand wheel will be located in the front of the machine. The automatic infeed will consist of an air cylinder operated ratchet and pawl driving the lead screw drive gear through an idler gear; the infeed will be adjustable for the increment and total amount of feed. An automatic kickout will stop the feed when the diamond wheel reaches the diameter pre-set by the operator. For brochure click here

Wheel Balancer

The Glassline Wheel Balancer is a high speed single plane dynamic balancer specifically designed for the balancing of metal bond diamond grinding wheels from four to ten inches in diameter. After redressing, wheels sometimes lose the factory balance due to metal being removed during the redress process. An unbalanced wheel can create vibration that is detrimental to the grinding process and the machine integrity. An unbalanced vibrating wheel can cause edge chipping and a rippled edge. It also can reduce spindle bearing life. For brochure click here
