INFRARED (GHS 300) AND COMBINED (GHS 340) OVENS TO DRY DIFFERENT TYPES OF INK PRINTED ON FLAT GLASS AND COOL THE GLASS. ACCORDING TO THE PROCESS NEEDS, THE DRYERS CAN CONSIST OF SEVERAL STANDARD SECTIONS, CONNECTING HEATING (“IR” AND COMBINED “IR” + “UV”) AND COOLING ZONES.

The dryers GHS 300 and GHS 340 consist of:

Conveyor system

Rectified chromium-plated steel roller conveyors are used for both heating and cooling sections, which require virtually no maintenance. AC motors and variable-frequency devices drive the heating and the cooling zones. The speed can be adjusted to match the cycle time of the screen printer, if any, located before the oven.

IR Heating zones

Standard sections measuring two metres are provided. The modules include no more than 24 medium- and/or long-wave infrared lamps (6 standard groups of 3 lamps). The number of lamps of each section as well as the number of sections varies according to the process needs. The lamps are mounted on mechanical supports, each capable of housing three lamps. Lamp cooling, air circulation and fumes extraction are attained by a proper fan system. Air circulation is also provided to help dry the paint through convection and to pull the solvents away from the glass. An automatic air temperature control system is included in the supply.

Combined IR + UV Heating zone (GHS 340)

Standard sections measuring two metres are provided. The modules include no more than 12 medium- and/or long-wave infrared lamps in the first half of the section and 3 UV lamps in the second half. The number of lamps of each part varies according to the process needs.

Cooling zone

Standard sections measuring two metres are provided. The sections can be cooled by forced air ambient via circulation fans positioned directly in the section or via chilled air circulation fans, located in the same section, making use of a chiller with heat-exchanger having the necessary size and power. The internal side of the zones is covered with thermally insulating material.

Roof lifting and lamp extraction

A pneumatic roof lifting system is provided to keep one side of each section lifted for conveyor and glass access. Alarms and mechanical stops are provided for safety purposes. The bottom of the heating section is removable. The lamps can be easily replaced by removing the corresponding set of three lamps with their support.
