Automatic Power Dresser for Redressing the Outside Diameter of Diamond Wheels
The machine will consist of a precision belt driven spindle on which the diamond wheels are mounted. This spindle will be driven by a 1 H.P. brake motor at approximately 400 R.P.M. and is equipped with a reciprocating cylinder to oscillate the spindle when dressing periphery wheels or reducing the diameter of pencil edging wheels.
The abrasive wheel will be mounted on a 2 H.P., 3450 R.P.M. precision motorized spindle mounted at the rear of the machine behind the diamond wheel spindle.
The abrasive wheel spindle will be mounted on a feed slide fitted with accordion protectors to prevent the introduction of abrasive dust and equipped with a hand wheel to simplify setup and operation; the handwheel will be located in the front of the machine.
The automatic infeed will consist of an air cylinder operated rachet and pawls driving the lead screw drive gear through an idler gear; the infeed will be adjustable for the increment and total amount of feed. An automatic kickout will stop the feed when the diamond wheel reaches the diameter pre-set by the operator.
