Rack Change Systems

For automated loading systems, a mechanism is often required for quickly changing from an empty rack to a full rack. Two types of systems are offered.

  • Turntables

  • A heavy duty rotational platform provides enough space for two racks (typically). The unit is typically motorized, but can optionally be used for manual loading systems without motorization. The unit turns 180 degrees to present one of the racks to the line, and then turns in the opposite direction 180 degrees to present the other rack to the line. The surface of the platform can be fitted with optional rack location brackets. Glass sensors can be provided. An optional pneumatic locking mechanism can be provided. Safety fencing is highly recommended.

  • Linear Rack Change System
  • This system incorporates two rack platforms. Depending on the application, the platforms can be fixed rack platforms, or can be indexing style as required for Glassline’s Underline Loader. The two platforms are mounted to a moving support frame, mounted to rails, and driven via timing belt or lead-screw (or optional ball screw). The system will automatically shift the full/empty rack so that the other rack is in position. At which point, the new rack will be positioned relative to the un-loader.
