A Historical Timeline of Glassline Corporation

Glassline Corporation was founded in 1970, was capitalized with $50,000 and had seven employees. The original business philosophy was to remain a small specialized company with maintained close contacts with Customers and focus on design of superior equipment at reasonable prices. That philosophy largely remains today.

Glassine's first year of operations resulted in sales of $160,000. After the first three years, the company's net worth had been reduced to $1,000, but the company had established a framework to support subsequent profitable years and a sales volume in excess of $1,000,000. In 1981, company growth required the relocation from Toledo, Ohio to Perrysburg Township where larger facilities were available. Since 1981, the company has expanded its facilities seven times. Glassline Corporation, with its various divisions, employs approximately 130 people.

In 1986, Glassline purchased a Chicago manufacturer of diamond cutting tools, and eventually moved the production to Perrysburg in 1993.

Also in 1986, the company formed a new division called "InteliCon" which manufactures electrical panels and controls for Glassline machines and outside companies and consultants.

In 1992, Glassline acquired System Packaging: A Designer and builder of Automated Packaging Systems www.systempackaging.com

In early 1994, Glassline acquired "SIMCO", a manufacturer of centrifugal liquid / solid separation equipment. This equipment is used to clarify coolants and grinding fluids used in the glass industry. It is also used to separate and recover material from metal cutting and grinding, metal coating operations, wire drawing, waste management, food processing, and other similar types of manufacturing and commercial applications.

In late 1995, the company started to manufacture diamond grinding wheels. These wheels are used on Glassline machines and other glass grinding equipment. Glassline has grown this business throughout the years, expanding its capabilities and techniques to produce some of the finest wheels available on the market. Redressing services are currently provided to many customers, even for wheels not produced by Glassline. Together with the diamond core drill manufacturing, this production encompasses the Diamond Tooling Division

In 1997, Glassline took a big step in expanding its machining capabilities by purchasing a boring mill capable of machining large weldments, such as for CNC grinders, shuttles, etc. A 12,000 sq. ft. building was added to house the new machine along with other machines that were currently in use.

In 1998, Glassline acquired SecurePak: a manufacturer of testing machines used in the bottling industry, such as torque testers and seal testers. www.secure-pak.com

In 2003, Glassline expanded its engineering capabilities with the adoption of the use of Autodesk Inventor, a 3D design software solution.

In 2006, Glassline acquired a manufacturer of food processing equipment, laundry equipment and industrial centrifuges and renamed the company North Star Engineered Products. www.northstarengineered.com
